    Partially defrosted food?`

I'm hoping there is nothing wrong with my freezer but I just went to get out some sausages and they were partially defrosted And so was everything else in there. I checked the thermostat and it was on 4 so I turned it up. Hopefully the freezer door was just left open and it's not broken...

So can I re freeze everything that was in there or do I have to chuck it all? Someone said if I fully defrost it, then I can refreeze without cooking...is that true? Or can I just refreeze when it's half defrosted?

TIA...thankfully there wasn't too much in there but still about $40 worth

Do you know how long they have been partially defrosted for?

You should be able to cook them , but no, you can't refreeze without cooking meat.

Cook and refreeze, dont just refreeze them, they'll go off.
Hopefully its not broken and starts working properly!

if food has been defrosted in a fridge not a bench then you can refreeze so i would assume the same thing

Thats what I heard...that you can refreeze defrosted food without cooking as long as it hasn't been defrosted in the microwave...

If its been partially defrosted in the fridge you can refreeze it as is, but if it is completely defrosted or was defrosted outside the fridge then you cant refreeze it.
